How do you do old machine mapping without the original screw drawing?

Release time:2026-09-22

quick answer

For repairers and accessories sellers, describe the method of checking the master, effective long, diameter, long segment, tail interface and front end, analyse the risk that leakage will lead to failure of assembly, and provide recommendations for validation of the sequence of dismantling machines and the retention of a photo baseline and a recognition rate and assembly result.

In the absence of drawings, the first solution to be addressed by the repairer and the fitting seller is not to choose a ready-made model, but to confirm the total, effective long, diameter, segment, tail interface and front end. This step determines whether the subsequent spiral diameter, structure and material grade are well founded.

Old machine upgrades are the easiest to ignore system matching. New screws must be compatible with the needs of old drums, drives, brakes, heating, nozzles, control of travel and molds. Any build-up, speed-up or material upgrade should first measure the status quo, then determine whether the single replacement, plasticization component upgrade or the full retrojection of the unit. Site information should preferably include both photographs, short videos and data sheets. Photos are used to identify machine interfaces, screw tails and front-end components, video can be observed to measure, buffer and abnormal sound, and data tables are used to calculate the rate of application, the need for plasticization per hour and the length of stay. If only partial information can be obtained, a list should be provided for confirmation, rather than a tentative condition being a definitive conclusion.

Technical communication distinguishes between three types of objectives that must be met, desired improvement and acceptable. It is necessary to meet the hard boundary of the item for the determination of equipment and screws, and it is hoped that the improvement item will be used for the comparison of standards and specialized programmes, while the acceptable item will help to control costs and deadlines. This would avoid stacking all requirements on a screw and would make it easier for clients to understand the real value of each configuration. The focus of the discussion here is on total, effective, long, diameter, long segment, tail interface and front end, data that must correspond to the customer ' s current mass production conditions and not only the maximum value in the machine sample.

The configuration proposal should be put in place to sequence the dismantling machines and retain a photographic baseline, rather than using vague descriptions such as “enhanced” or “high performance”. The spiral drawings need to reflect the effective length, three-part scale, depth, compression ratio, tail connection and anti-reverse components; the material programme needs to distinguish the base, surface hardening, alloy layer or coating, and to indicate the pattern of failure for which they are intended.

The cost of the misconfiguration is not only the screw itself, but also the cut-off, the waste of raw materials, the testing of molds, the delay in delivery and the credibility of customers. It would be more economical to establish precautions around leak-detected and hidden dimensions that would lead to failure in assembly than to repeat machines in case of problems; it would also allow vendors to move from a mere offerer to a partner capable of taking on technical screening.

The focus of the validation was on the one-time recognition rate and assembly results of the drawings. The test shall use the actual material and representative moulds of the client, retaining the batch number, dry condition, ambient temperature and sample number. When compared to old schemes, equipment, moulds and major process conditions other than screws should be as consistent as possible. The sales proposal should answer three questions at the same time: why this selection was made, which conditions had changed and which were re-selected, and how the customer validated the results. Clearing up these three issues would make it possible to move without drawings and mapping from a trade in accessories to a traceability technology project.
