Which part of the screw should be upgraded when the budget is limited?
Release time:2026-10-02
For terminal retrofit plants, it is important to explain which parts of the screw should first be upgraded with limited budget, combining product, raw material, platform, production, life-cycle and life-cycle data to reduce the cost of scrap, shutdown and life-cycle.

[Scene definition] Which part of the spiral should first be upgraded from the real production scene of the plant, and not only the diameter or price of the screw. It is recommended that the purchase price, scrap, energy consumption, stoppage and spare parts be first collated and then that a uniform sampling method be used for the same product on different platforms to facilitate horizontal comparisons. The aim of this step is to establish comparable old programme benchmarks so that subsequent screw changes can be supported by data.
The most easily ignored of the topic is the cost of a single eligible item and the full life cycle. The plant should set priorities using customer complaints and the internal defunct Paretto and check the remaining plasticization capacity based on order peaks rather than average annual production. Vendors can make retroactive trade-offs between interoperability, earmarking and cost when there are clear values for product weight, daily production, customer quality caps and allowed stop times.
[Design Focus] The main line of this case is to replace the simple price with TCO and the current cycle. In geometric and material programmes, the inner and worn state of the cylinders should be incorporated into the co-ordinated gap to avoid new screws being dragged by old cylinders; and the screw diameter, a valid itinerary and a single simulator mass should be calibrated to prevent long stops. The final solution would also need to be compatible with the wear and tear of the cylinder, the drive, the physical velocity and the current cleaning process, and would not cover up co-operation or process problems with a single high-level material.
The new [comparison-valid] programme proposes to operate for at least eight consecutive hours, extracting 20 sims for each stabilization phase, recording extremely poor single modulus weight, storage time and bad black spot rates. Tests should be conducted immediately after the test, with acoustics, friction marks and metal powders being examined, in a timely manner, to identify co-benefits and to avoid different names for the same phenomenon in different classes, in case of poor use of uniform codes. If only the first one is checked, it is easy to miss the risks associated with heat drifting, material stoppage, reversal loop return and prolonged wear and tear.
When the [stabilized production] spiral is shaped, the abnormal twister, material overtime and material backlash should be set as an early overhaul signal, and spare parts should be discharged early when the wear trend is close to the threshold and not be processed until the quality is out of control. The time of storage, back pressure, screw velocity, noise and mass of the product shall be recorded in a uniform manner in the shift. When the above indicators change at the same time, the mechanical gaps and the state of the raw materials should be checked before the process is adjusted to avoid the use of parameters to compensate for hardware degradation.
The cost statement [of the combined cost] should not only be a screw price, but should be based on the true purchase price of test moulds, cleaning materials, transitional materials and bad goods, and the cost of inventory, maintenance and rust resistance should be calculated for the back-up screws, and compared with the cost of emergency delivery. It is recommended that the cost per 10,000 eligible items be exported simultaneously, the cost per 1,000 operating hours and the estimated number of return months. When new programmes reduce waste, refuelling or sudden shutdowns, higher initial inputs are often offset during production.
The [Closed Ring Management] will eventually include drawing numbers, screwdriver materials, heat treatment, critical dimensions, portable tubes, process windows and acceptance data in the curriculum vitae cards. It is recommended that benchmarks be established for each of the three phases of start-up, stable production and refuelling, together with a system of metallic insulation and magnetic insulation, as well as a post-accuracy examination of prism damage. When there is a clear change in the feedstock formulation, retrospective ratio, product structure or target beat, the applicable boundary “which part of the spiral should be upgraded first when the budget is limited” should be reassessed rather than defaulting on the old conclusion being permanently valid.
