How to account for high-speed plasticization and capacity in thin wall packaging projects
Release time:2026-09-22
For high-speed packaging machines, describe the verification method for short-term, high-injection, PP smelting and cooling capacity, analyse the risk that plasticization will not keep up with the ability of high-speed machines to produce their capacity, and provide recommendations for the validation of screws and drivers and cycle cycles, the measurement of completion rates and energy consumption per hour of melting.

The problem with many thin wall packaging projects is not the lack of equipment capacity, but the omission of short-term, high-injection rates, p-melting fingers and cooling capacity during the selection phase. High-speed packaging machines can significantly reduce the risk of retrofitting and complaints if they complete their technical confirmation prior to the offer.
The name of the industry itself is not an optional parameter, but it points to a quality focus and production rhythm. Car projects focus on long-term stabilization and traceability, medical projects on cleanliness, packaging projects on high speed, optical items on low pollution and low stress. Plant manufacturers should translate these industry requirements into verifiable screw and process indicators. It is recommended that customer information be broken down into five groups: products and moulds, raw materials, platforms, process objectives and existing problems. Product end logs of single weight, flowway, number of caves, wall thickness and appearance levels; ratio of feedstock end recorder number, melting finger, filling, flame retardation and retrofitting; terminal logs of tonnage, voltage, screw diameter, maximum travel, injection pressure and plasticization. All data are sourced and are marked, drawn, physical, measured or estimated by clients.
Calculates the nominal value to be converted to the actual condition. The machine often uses PS as a reference for the gel weight, which should be revised by density when using other raw materials; the weight of the product should be added to the main course, traffic separation and a reasonable buffer. The larger the diameter of the screw, the greater the theoretical capacity, but the pressure of injections per unit area under the same hydraulic pressure or servo system will decline and the resolution of the measurement of the small amount of the aerosol may also be variable. The focus of discussion in this paper is on short-term, high-injection rates, p-melting fingers and cooling capacity, which must correspond to the customer ' s current production conditions and not be limited to the maximum values in machine samples.
From the point of view of sales management, screws and drivers should be configured on an hourly melt volume to form a standard process that can be used again. Each project saves original needs, computations, final drawings, test modelling data and client feedback, and can call on experience in the event of a similar machine or material, but there is still a need to reconcile key differences and not to copy the historical configuration directly.
If these steps are ignored, the most common consequence is that plasticization does not keep up with the ability of high-speed machines to produce. The problems are often manifested in the trial phase of measuring time instability, insufficient stress residuals, buffer drift, unmelted, black spots, colour differentials or increased wear and tear. Continued increase in temperature, back pressure and turn speed at this time may temporarily improve the appearance, but may increase the shearing heat, material degradation and equipment load.
The focus of the validation was on the cycle, the measurement of completion rates and energy consumption. The test shall use the actual material and representative moulds of the client, retaining the batch number, dry condition, ambient temperature and sample number. When compared to old schemes, equipment, moulds and major process conditions other than screws should be as consistent as possible. For aluminum manufacturers and vendors, professionalism is reflected in the ability to translate the client language into engineering parameters and to interpret the programme into production, quality, maintenance and cost results that the client can understand. The establishment of standard processes around thin wall packaging will not only improve the accuracy of this selection, but also create reusable machine and application databases.
